All you need to make this refreshing and tasty Blueberry Lemon Smoothie:
• 1 banana, sliced and frozen
• 1 cup of frozen blueberries (128g)
• The juice of 1/2 lemon
• 1/2 cup plant-based milk of your choice (alternative in our section: Ingredient notes) (125 ml)
• 1/8 teaspoon of almond extract (optional)
Only a few ingredients are required for this recipe, it is quick to make and inspires healthy eating.
Banana – We recommend using frozen bananas for maximum freshness. Freezing tip: If you freeze your own, peel them before putting them in the freezer. Once frozen, just put them in a blender and that’s it !
Blueberry – Easily purchased in your local market frozen or if you freeze your own, we recommand using organic ones. You can use fresh blueberry too.
Lemon Juice – We add lemon juice to this recipe to add more freshness to the recipe and enhance the taste of this recipe. Plus, lemon is known for its vitamin C content and its ability to promote good digestion thanks to its concentration in citric acid. It is also a very good immune system stimulant.
Plant-based milk – Use your favorite plant-based milk, or for a richer version, you can use a plant-based cream like Belsoy or coconut milk… Super creamy!
Almond extract – The almond extract is optional but it adds a subtil touch of almond flavor that fits perfectly with the blueberries taste. You can replace the almond extract with vanilla extract.
